Weave is out

So, I had to take the weave out. Why? Because my hair would not stay moisturized. My hair was very crunchy. It was extremely hard. It was SNAPPING OFF. My hair was literally breaking at the middle of the shaft. After I took my weave out, I ran my hands in my hair and it sounded like my hand was in a potato chip bag. It was horrific. I decided to wash and DC. Afterwards, my hair was right as rain. Sadly, I couldn't keep my hair under my weave this nice. Before I attempt it again, I will definitely have to learn how perfect moisturizing in this situation again. Please post any advice and/or tips.

April Goals

I have been so laid back with my hair. In the middle of 2012, I thought that simple was best for my hair. Idk if I am wrong or not, but I have taken a lot of the complicated work out of my hair and my regimen. What I mean is that washing on a schedule doesn't work for me. I have to really listen to my hair. If my hair says wash in two days or wash in five days, I have to obey. Also, DCing for long periods of time is not helpful for my hair too. I also picked up on doing the same to your roots as you would to your ends. So I have been trying that out, babying my roots and so forth.

I have been contemplating what will be my April goal(s), and I believe I got it.
#1 I am using JBCO four times a week.
#2 keep my roots moisturized.
I am in my sew in, and cannot get to my ends easily, but I will be giving my roots the TLC it deserves this month.
I am hoping for great results.
Follow my journey.

Week 7 Wash Day plus Sew In!!!

After much consideration, I have decided to do a sew in for the entire month of April to combing my hair and using any heat.

I pre-pooed with my hair mayo. It stayed for about 20 minutes. I rinsed my hair and followed up with my shampoo.

After shampooing, I sprayed black tea to my roots because I have been experience shedding the last couple of days. I rinsed the tea out and followed up with my Nexxus humectress conditioner and DCed for about two hours. After rinsing the conditioner, my hair airdried naked.

After my hair was about 60 percent dry, I began braiding my hair leaving only my front and crown out. After braiding, I I began sewing my own hair in!!! First time doing it, and I was so excited. My hair is Brazilian virgin hair and its 16" long. U only used part of one bundle. My leave out is not styled; it was only Bantu knotted out the way while I worked but I really believe I did a good job and I look forward to going all of April with this style.

I have never been so excited about buns before!!!

So, me and the fam went shopping today. I decided to put my hair in a bun, but I was being rushed. So I had no time to brush it or anything. I didn't even get to secure it properly. On the way out, I asked to stop by a dollar store to get some pins for my hair. I have never been in this particular store, so I was so excited to find these decorative pins. They have pearls on them. I cannot wait to rock them in buns.
Short blog, but I had to share.

Wash day - 6 weeks post - WEDDING HAIR!!! Pix heavy

Hello, everyone. As promised, I said that I would do a post on my wedding hair. I'm not the one getting married, lol. But a childhood friend on mines is getting married today. So, here I go with my wash day:
I took my hair down from my twist and curls. I decide to wear out like that to work. So I wore my hair big and curly. That night, all I did was put my hair into a bun, slapped on a bonnet and went to bed.
Fast forward and it's today, Saturday. I got up and decided to pre-poo because my hair was so dry. I used HELTR conditioner. I sectioned my hair of and put my hair up into Bantu knots. I prepooed for about thirty minutes and proceeded to shampoo and condition my hair really well with my Salon Care products.
After allowing my hair to air dry some, I began flexi rodding my hair. I used the largest rods I have. I believe they are 11/12". I could be mistaken. Anywho, I detangled my hair with my large toothed comb. Next, I used Hollywood Beauty Castor Oil on my nape and edges. I saturated my roots and ends with my Dark and Lovely Healthy Gloss Moisture Leave In conditioner. I sealed the conditioner in with my one and only Argan Oil Treatment. Next, I saturated my length with diluted setting lotion. I applied my Suave Keratin Infusion Smooth and Frizz Serum. I flexi rodded my hair in ten sections. I sprayed a small amount of one and only Argan Oil Spray Treatment and finished up with my TreSemme Thermal Creations Heat Tamer Leave in Spray as my heat protectant.
I am really going to have to learn how to use my new dryer, because after an hour I still wasn't dry. I did put some oil on my wet hair, so MAYBE that had something to do with it. Anywho, to avoid being late, I had to switch back to my tabletop hood dryer just to be extra sure that I would be dry.
I took my rods out and allowed my hair to fall some before I separated the curls. I decided to go with the larger flexi rods because I wanted a body wave style. I wasn't looking for defined curls. Plus the way that my dress's neckline is made, I wanted to have some hair on my shoulders, or a least around my neck.
So, my curls are separated and my hair is done. Y'all tell me what y'all think!!!

Whats going on this week???

Howdy!
On Sunday, I tried my new stand dryer for the first time. I am not ready to give my opinion on the matter, yet. But lets say that this dryer has to grow on me. Well, I can go into a few details. I decided to flexi rod my hair Sunday. I sat under the dryer for an hour with the heat on high but the speed on low. Even though there was sufficient heat in the dryer, my hair did not dry. I think I am alittle intimidated by mynew dryer. I really do not want to mess anything up. Also, I have not used the ionic feature on my dryer yet. The instruction manual does not tell you how to use it, only how to put it together and what to stay away from. If anyone wants to give me alittle advice, it will greatly appreciated, lol.

Like I mentioned earlier, I flexi rodded my hair again. I actually attempted the twists-and-rods style again. I wante to try it with the flexi rods because I wanted my curls more loose. I was so happy with the results. I believe that I am going to use flexi rods with this style from here on. I haven't been able to post a picc this wash due to my work schedule, my school schedule (school has started for me again) and making time to do things for my family (ugh, the story of my life). I could take a pic now, but the style isn't fresh anymore. I am washing this style out Friday and putting it back sometime next week. I will definitely have a pic up then.

This Saturday, I will be attending a wedding of a  friend of mines since elementary school. I will be six weeks post then, and I have been searching within the depths of my internal hair roledex on what hairstyle to rock to the wedding. I am still alittle unsure, so I am going to spend the rest of the week determining that. My hair seems pretty dry, so I believe that a heated DC is in order for Friday. I guess I will be coming up with a DC formula, also.

Pics will be up on this blog this week. I believe that I am going to put a picture of my 3 day old hairstyle on Instagram. If you are not following, find me at @enduring_ego1920. I follow back.

Until next post and pic!

Go to your local Sally's store NOW!!!

In selected areas, there is a 50% off of all clearance. I got these china glaze polishes for three bucks total. My local store had plenty, but these where the only colors that caught my eye. Plus, I had other clearance goodies that caught my eye.
Sadly, I wanted to buy this pretty rich brown, but I jumped the gun earlier this week and ordered it off amazon for 5 bucks. Definitely kicking myself for not waiting. :-(

I also got the second pic for very cheap: I paid 50 cents a piece for the combs. I got the file with the little lady on it for 25 cents. I got the mirror for about 3 bucks. I got the lashes regular price for 4.49. The rain bonnet was 1 dollar.

I also made up my mind about a dryer. Well kinda!!! Someone whose hair I do all the time decided to give me money on this dryer she saw at Sally's. It is gold n hot dryer. I got it for about 60 bucks if I really don't like it, I plan to give her the money for it and continue my search for a great dryer. I plan to keep the dryer for about two months and do a review on it ASAP. I plan to use it for the first time today and I cannot wait!!!

Other than these few treasures, Sally's has plenty of great things. I may go back today. If I do, I will take a pic of the display. I might as well go back today lol.
I'm so obsessed with hair, lol.

Thanks for reading.
