May Goals Recap + My June Goals + Summer Goals

Hello. Today is May 31st. What does that mean? Well, it means that my birthday is tomorrow!!! Lol. I am so excited. But on to more current news, I have come bearing news of my May goals and what's what with them.

So, my goals for May were to (1)baggy with every wash and (2)moisturize my ends nightly. Let's start with moisturizing. I moisturized my ends with two types of moisturizer: oil and water based. Sometimes I would just grab a bottle, not really looking at which one it was and would just moisturize. I can truly say that I stuck to this goal. My ends thank me for it, because during this last stretch, I retained my length according to my most recent relaxer.

As far as me baggying before or on every wash day, that was a big FAIL. I couldn't remember to baggy before wash days. I would have already shampoo'ed and then it would come to me to baggy. I did baggy my DC's, but my goal was to baggy the pre-poo's. In the month of May, the total amount of times that I baggyed before a wash was one. Lol. Horrible numbers, right?! HOWEVER, I would find myself baggying my hair once to two times a week, whether it was overnight or a couple of hours. Sometimes my hair would thank me for it, but I am going to have to come up with the best moisturizer for my hair and to baggy with. Sometimes after baggying, my hair would be so stiff and hard. Remember, my blog isn't an informative blog. Mine is more of trial and error. LOTS and LOTS of errors, lol. Back to baggying, I failed miserably as far as my goal. But I am willing to try again, sometime in the future.

Tomorrow will be June, and I am ready for a fresh start. I am ready for new goals. It took me all of May to think of the best goals for this month, and I believe that I have found the best two for me:

-Hot oil treatment pre-poos with every wash
-Use up two large bottle products

I have hoarded products, thanks to my new hobby of extreme couponing (follow me on instagram for my couponing experiences @enduring_ego1920). At first, I was  thinking that keeping a stock of conditioners on top of conditioners would be great. I mean, I do it with tissue, paper towels, toothpaste, dishwashing liquid and laundry detergent, lol. But, a lot of you may not know is that I am still at home with the parents, so my space (personal space) is extremely limited. Hoarding beauty products is not possible because of me extremely limited space. So my plan is to use up some things, so that I can an intimate stash. I have two gallon size shampoos, one gallon size conditioner, three litters of conditioner, about 16 bottles of 20 oz shampoo and conditioner, several spray bottles of shampoo, conditioner, ACV, Black Tea for rinses, diluted setting lotion, leave in conditioners, hot oil treatments and finally Hold Spray. Not to mention bottles of foam lotion, a litter bottle of setting lotion, big bottles of oils, small bottles of oils, moisturizers, heat protectants, the list goes on and on. I think that I am going to make it my goal this summer (from June 1st to August 1st) to use up 6 products. I honestly do not need  to buy anything else.

So, lets recap my goals:

June 1st-June 30th goals
-Hot Oil Treatment Pre-poo's with everywash
-Use up two large products

June 1st - August 1st
-Use up 6 products

I am going to have a little help. My mother uses all of my product and does not contribute to anything. She doesn't even have her own personal products. She just uses mine. So, hopefully she can help me to get rid of some things also.

Additional information: I am just rambling here, but I have been doing a lot of thinking. June is actually my last month working with my current job. My last official day is going to be June 27th. By that time I should be about five to six weeks post and not looking for a relaxer no time soon. I believe July will be a flexi-rod month. Not only will I be looking for jobs, but interviews are possible. I believe that flexi-rods are appropriate enough hairstyles for interviews. At least, I will not be tempted to flat-iron my hair. I am also going this stretch with no use of direct heat. My next relaxer is aimed for August. I have been saying it for months and months, BUT I am hoping that this next relaxer will put me APL where I can clearly see it for myself.

Well, ladies, I have wrote enough. I will catch you at the next post. Hopefully, you will find my post tomorrow about my birthday hair, nothing too special. Also, I have a special #trendingtopic for my journey of instagram. My specific one is #est2008lexhhj. It should just be my pix on there. I post my most recent hairstyles on to instagram. Follow my journey on there as well as here!

Until next time!!!

Relaxer and a length post

Hello.
I am not going to bore you with details about my relaxer. It is all the same. Lol. I just rather not speak of anything that I have mentioned time and time again.
Well, I used my ORS normal strength box relaxer. As you may know, I have not used direct heat since my last relaxer. It was tough, but I feel like I did a great job. My ends felt so good during this stretch. I knew they would have been proud of me after the stretch. Well, without further stalling, my new length pic is below.

In conclusion, my ends look good to me. My hair may not be straight edge straight. However, I feel as if they are healthy. I will bypass a trim this relaxer. I will wait until the next one. Also, I believe that I continue to use one direct heat passage per stretch. Wish me luck, I'm stretching again.
Toodles!
ALSO, help me with where I lie!!! I am NOT claiming APL as of now.

Almost 5 weeks with No Direct Heat!!! + a Flexi Rod Set (with pix)

Hello. I am proud to say that this Sunday will make 5 weeks since my last direct hair usage. I am thankful; however, I would be a liar-liar if I didn't say that it is extremely tempting to flatiron. Yesterday, I could not find anything to do to my hair. I was itching to run a flatiron through it. THANKFUL, what stopped me was the fact that I was actually doing an overnight DC. WHEW!!! I believe that if that wasn't on my hair that I would have went through with it. I am still heat-free and I am willing to press forward. I am very limited to the styles that I can do, so it is getting a tad bit boring, but I will maintain. I have searching through my mental hair rolodex in search of a hair style. I haven't worn rods or straw curls or tiny spirals (IDK what everyone call them) since 2010. I was so excited about trying them again. I invested in getting enough 1/4" and 3/8" flexi rods that will do my entire head.

This is how my wash day went:
1. I shampoo'ed my hair well with my Salon Care Shampoo
2. I DC'ed with my Moition's Moisturing Conditioner. I bagged my hair with this conditioner for about 45 minutes. I put on my bonnet and DC overnight. I did not rinse until 8p.m. the following evening.
3. After rinsing out my DC, I conditioned washed my hair with the same conditioner.
4. I allowed my hair to towel dry some.

*********After my hair was no longer dripping wet, I prepped my hair for set:
1. I sprayed my hair with Aphogee Keratin and Green Tea Spray.
2. I applied my setting lotion of choice to my hair.
3. I followed up with my Foam and Set Lotion.
4. I began to set my hair until it was entirely done.

I sprayed some heat protectant over my head. I wrapped my head up and went to sleep.

The following day, I decided to get under the hood dryer for about an hour. My hair was still damp in areas. After an hour, I allowed my hair to cool. I took down the rods, and I applied a small amount of hold spray to my hair. I got back under the dryer for one minute. Then, COMPLETE!

My thoughts, I believe that I will do this again. I really like it. My hair is a little dry, so I will need to come up with something that helps moisturize my hair when I am using setting lotion.  Do I like the cold rods or the flexi rods? It is so much easier to sleep in the flexi rods, but the seep is still rough to come by. Lol.

My brother was graduating from community college. I decided to spruce up for his ceremony. I hope you all liked it. So, please give me any input, especially about keeping moisture.
Thanks.

My first full month with no DIRECT HEAT!!!

Hello loves. I am so excited to be authoring this particular post because tomorrow will make one full month since my last direct heat usage. I am sooo proud of myself. At first, I could not see myself going through with this. But with a lot of patience and self motivation, I am one month strong. Also, I can really see the difference. Since my last usage, I have not seen any brittle ends. Also, my strands are not snapping mid-shaft. My ends look extremely healthy. They look strong and not split. They dnt look raggedy nor uneven. I haven't had a length check since my last relaxer; however, I have realized that I do not have struggle and strain to reach for a few strands of hair. I believe that is a great sign. I post a few non close up pix. Let me know what you think!!!

Did I meet my April Goals + May Goals

Hello. Last month, I vowed to try to aim for two goals: keep my roots moisturized and apply JBCO to my hair four times a week. So, what happened?

I did meet my castor oil goal. I am so proud of myself for sticking with it. I would apply the oil to my ends or my edges or some roots. I would even add alittle in a a DC or a leave in. In all, I have noticed that my hair is a tad bit thicker. My roots are definitely starting to curl, being that I am almost a month post.
Unfortunately, I did not meet my moisturized roots goal. I had a hard time trying to concentrate on my roots while maintaining a decent hairstyle. However, I am willing to try again, but maybe another month.

This month, I designating this month To the End of May, lol. Basically this month is all about my ends. So, I have lined up two more goals for me:
-Baggy my ends AT LEAST two times a week
-Moisturize my ends every night

Not too hard, right? I am trying my best to keep my ends healthy and to retain as much length as possible.
For those who don't know, I have recently taken a vow not to put direct heat to my head at all for this entire stretch. I am aiming for either 12 or 16 weeks. Either way, I plan to use no flat irons and no blow dryers. So far, I am almost a month in and I am doing fantastic. I would be lying if I said I have not had the urge to flatiron, but thankfully I have been able to kick my "craving" in the butt and proceed further without direct heat. I have a counter above on how many days I have been going without direct heat. I usually use it every two weeks. A month is an awesome feat for me. I have never been past three weeks. I am excited. Even though my birthday is next month, I have no urge to flat iron for my special day.

I hope to keep it up. Follow my journey.
